We, as the members of LEO CLUB OF CEG, were filling the minds of underprivileged school children with vivaciousness by conducting the event Thulir. Thulir is a one-day cultural event conducted annually for students of Surya Nagar,a slum area in Kotturpuram which is located very close to CEG. In this event, various cultural activities like music, dance, dumb-charades, lemon- in-the spoon, balloon bursting and finding the personalities are conducted. The prime motive of Thulir is to bring out the hidden talents of children, coming from a humble background and thereby motivating them.By attending such events, the students from downtrodden areas can get exposure to many new things. It will also push them to have higher dreams and study well to get into a prestigious institution like CEG in future. They will also get an opportunity to interact with the college students. At the end of the event, winners will be announced and prizes will be distributed to the winners. Food will be served to all the children and attendees of the event.

LEO Utsav is the annual flagship event of LEO Club of CEG. It was conducted with the view of extending the clubs helping hand to a social cause.It is usually conducted for two days in the month of March. The official logo of the club for the year will be unveiled in this event. ‘Utsav’ literally means ‘celebration’ and it will comprise of many events like Gamindrome, Kollywood quiz, Mehendi, Badmiton Arena, Creative Writing,Snake and Ladder,Tamil debate, Food Mania and Meme Creation mainly for raising funds for the social cause.To quote an example, we provided the basic amenities for the children of the Truth Foundation at Chennai as a part of Utsav’20. The castle LEO UTSAV started laying its bricks in the year 2012 focusing on the people requiring help and tending to fullfil their needs.

This edition set up a ROOF TOP ORGANIC GARDEN at ANNAI THANGAM CHARITABLE TRUST, by providing finance, located at Annanur, Chennai. Focussing on the people in the home to be healthy and being independent on the outside world for their future needs.

This edition was focused on the target to give the true wealth instead of providing soluble wealth. And the main motto of this edition was to provide knowledge and make it easily accessible by the people. Hence a public library was set up at Ponmar, providing access to the nearby students to improve their curiosity and hunger for knowledge,so that poverty can be overcome with this wealth.

LEO CONVERGENCE
CONVERGENCE” is an annual event that is held every year successfully by the LEO CLUB OF CEG. As the name of the event indicates, it is not only a convergence of people physically present but also a convergence of the alumni members into the years of LEO progress. All the members would be formally invited to this convergence with great expectations of their presence. As per the longing expectations, a good number of alumni members take part in the meet. Once into the convergence, people just get into their past memories in the LEO Club rather than their present dwellings. The Director of Alumni Relations would also be present to let the alumni members know about the progress of the club. Moreover, they also suggest better ideas and ways to the members of the club for the betterment of the club. Besides club, fun activities take place where everyone including the members of the club take part enthusiastically. Finally the alumni members leave home happily with great satisfaction of the visit and with a moment.

We the LEO CLUB OF CEG aim at maintaining constant smile on the faces of poor children.Vidiyal is one of the initiatives by LEO CLUB OF CEG,which aims at providing joy ,to the children of Surya nagar,by taking them to places like museum,parks ,conducting games and providing refreshments to them. The winners of games are also awarded with prizes.As the name suggests,this event promises to bring dawn in the minds of poor buds. Nothing costs much than the smiles on their face ,and we service minded conduct this event once every year,form their happiness.
