“The law of love could be best understood and learnt through little children” — Mahatma Gandhi
We, the members of LEO Clubof CEG, fill the minds of underprivileged school children with vivaciousness by conducting the event Thulir — a one-day cultural event conducted annually for students of Surya Nagar, a slum area in Kotturpuram which is located in close proximity to CEG. In this event, various cultural activities like music, dance, dumb-charades, lemon-in-the-spoon, balloon bursting and finding-the-personalities are conducted.
The prime motive of THULIR is to bring out the hidden talents of children coming from a humble background, and thereby motivating them. By attending such events, the students from downtrodden areas get exposure to many new things. It also pushes them to set higher goals and study well to get into a prestigious institutions like CEG in future. They also get an opportunity to interact with the college students. At the end of the event, winners are announced and prizes are distributed to the winners. Food is served to all the children and attendees of the event.
